Prayer Meetings
Join us every Monday night at 7:30 PM for the Gathering of the Churches Prayer Meeting. Churches from all denominations, who believe that Jesus is Lord, are coming together to pray for our city, our nation, and other current issues. Just coming together as the Body of Christ and praying to our God.

Four Guidelines Concerning Prayer, Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy
|
1.When you pray: be specific with your requests. Find God's promise pertaining to your request in His Word about what you're asking for and then pray in accordance with that Word.
John 16: 23-34(NKJV) "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you
Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
2.Believe God heard your request.
I John 5:13-14 (NKJV) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.
3.Stand on the Word, resist any kind of doubt that comes your way and resist anything that contradicts what God said. This means: guard your thought life.
II Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) …casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
4.Think about, consider, stand on and meditate on the Word. Focus on the Word, keep it in front of you and refuse to be moved off of it! Stay with it!
Proverbs 4:20-22 (NLT) Pay attention, my child, to what I say. Listen carefully.
Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
Proverbs 8:21a (NKJV) Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue

Why We Must Pray
|
|
We, as the body of Christ, should be appalled by Satan's obvious activities which we as a nation have been confronted with in these last months. It is time that we recognize the urgency of the hour, rise up, take a stand and pray for our nation.
1 Timothy 2:1-2: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
